Hariharan Iyer

Hari’s journey has taken him from corporate boardrooms to the homes of single mothers in rural India. After more than three decades in senior finance leadership across India, South Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, he felt a deep calling to dedicate his next chapter to something closer to the heart: empowering single mothers who face life’s toughest battles with courage but little support.

The Smt Jayalakshmi Memorial Single Mother Foundation was born from that calling, inspired by the quiet strength of women who hold families together against all odds. For Hari, this work is not just about aid—it is about restoring dignity, building confidence, and opening doors to opportunity so that single mothers and their children can look to the future with hope.

The foundation’s vision is to build a collaborative model that can truly change the lives of single mothers and their children—restoring dignity, creating sustainable livelihoods, and enabling economic independence. What began in one small tribal village - supports dreams of growing into a collective effort to scale across rural India and beyond, celebrating the power and resilience of single mothers everywhere.

"This foundation is my promise that no single mother walks alone. We stand with them to restore dignity, create opportunity, and help them rebuild better lives - for themselves and their children."
