Luis Miranda
Luis Miranda is a distinguished leader whose career bridges finance, public policy, and social impact. As Chairperson and Co-Founder of the Indian School of Public Policy, and Chairperson of the Centre for Civil Society and CORO, he has dedicated much of his life to strengthening India’s civic and institutional fabric.
After helping establish institutions such as HDFC Bank and IDFC Private Equity, Luis moved to focus on building organisations and ideas that create lasting public value. His leadership at IDFC Private Equity and his role in creating HDFC Bank helped shape significant parts of India’s financial and institutional landscape. Today he serves on the boards of Manipal Cigna Health Insurance, L&T Technology Services, and Educate Girls, and advises a wide range of non-profits and social enterprises.
A lifelong believer in the power of connection, Luis spends his time linking ideas, people, and purpose. Along with his wife Fiona, he champions giving and shared responsibility as #LivingMyPromise signatories—committing to dedicate at least half of their wealth to philanthropy.
Luis brings deep experience in institution building, governance, and strategic partnership to the foundation. His ability to connect people, resources and policy helps the Foundation design programs that are compassionate yet structured — ensuring that purpose is matched with sustainability and scale.
